Vikas Raj, Managing Director at Accion Venture Lab, sat down with the TearSheet Podcast to talk about the firm’s portfolio and how they find the next financial inclusion fintech; Accion Venture Labs has historically invested seed stage capital from Accion’s balance sheet into startups that focus on financial inclusion but they are now looking to raise outside capital as well; companies typically receive $400,000 to $500,000 and must have a product in the market that generates some revenue; the interview also covers why the venture lab exists, inclusion themes and companies in their portfolio.
