VC firm Atomico announced the raising of a new fund, Atomico V, which will partner with mission-driven European founders at series A and beyond; investors in the fund included some of Europe’s top founders from Spotify, Skype, Klarna and Transferwise; the new fund raised $820mn, which will bring Atomico’s total assets under management to more than $2.7bn; along with the new fund the VC firm also announced their Conscious Scaling program which focuses on limiting impact on society and the environment; the company explained in a statement according to AltFi, “We have a responsibility as stewards of our investors’ capital, board members, and members of society to ensure we are doing everything we can to set these companies up for long-term success and avoid negative external consequences”.
