Fintech app Fresh EBT provides food stamp recipients the ability to check their balances in the app; they are becoming a critical tool for poor consumers to help them get through this crisis; there are more than 2 million low income users of Fresh EBT and they are homing in on the poorest zip codes that have been hardest hit with coronavirus; Even is another fintech app that helps people budget and access their earned wages early; they work with employers like Walmart and have seen a significant uptick in usage as their customers are seeking financial relief before payday; other fintech apps such as Digit, SaverLife and Chime are also proving popular with consumers during this financial crisis.
