Victory Park Capital (VPC) Investments says it is shifting investments from peer-to-peer loans to balance sheet investments after losses in October triggered significant writedowns and caused a revenue return of -1.25%; in October the return was primarily caused by a substantial capital loss of -203 basis points from "certain marketplace loans" which it did not disclose and also from losses in a securitized portfolio of Avant loans; according to Cormac Leech, "the marketplace lending portfolio is not quite seasoned, while the balance sheet side of investments is doing really well"; this performance has caused the change in focus to balance sheet investments. Chase will soon allow credit card customers to use voice authentication when dialing the call center, which will help to cut down on additional security questions; Chase will join TD, HSBC, Barclays and ANZ Banking Group in using voice authentication; the voiceprint is securely stored as a mathematical equation, and only works for verification with the bank’s system according to reporting by TearSheet; representatives can ask further authentication questions if needed, almost 30 percent of calls are requests for account access and improving efficiency will cut down on costs as well as time. While bitcoin's price has been reaching new highs its trading volatility has also been high; market momentum has recently been slowed by a number of factors including exchange regulation and new fees in China and the denial of the Winklevoss bitcoin ETF; Business Insider charts the cryptocurrencies progress and reports a double top with a neckline at $1,100 noting that if the price falls below the chart's neckline, technical analysis would indicate it's likely to fall even further, giving it a new expected average of approximately $900; given recent market factors a significant decrease in China trading volume and the technical analysis, bitcoin's price appears to be headed lower.
