Citibank Rapidly Expanding Digital Banking Platform

Not surprisingly, Citibank saw an increase of digital banking channels through Q1 2020 and has now made a key digital platform available in 37 countries; Citi’s CitiDirect BE Digital Onboarding is helping customers open accounts during the crisis; it replaces their paper and courier-based documentation process; by the end of the year they hope to offer their digital setup in 50 countries; Naveed Sultan, global head of Citi’s Treasury and Trade Solutions (TSS) noted, “During these unusually challenging times — where clients are primarily working remotely and their ability to provide physical, signed documents is severely restricted, the simplicity of Citi’s accelerated digital account-opening process is especially valuable”.
