The 2020 Forbes Fintech 50

Every year Forbes gives us insight into fintech companies with their Fintech 50 list; 2019 was a huge year for fintech with $53 billion being invested across the globe; interestingly 19 companies this year made the Fintech 50 for the first time; Thirteen companies have valuations of over $2 billion compared to 8 last year; Forbes highlights Stripe’s rise in valuation of $13 billion to $35 billion; Chime also saw a huge increase to their valuation from $1.3 billion to $5.8 billion in just nine months; the payments space continued to attract the most amount of money in 2019, but investments in digital banking and insurtech increased substantially.
