While the coronavirus continues to take most of the headlines the UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak released the 2020 budget; the announcement included a review into the fintech sector and additional funding for the fintech delivery panel; AltFi reports the aim of the review is to “identify what more industry and government can do to support growth and competitiveness, to ensure that the UK maintains its global leadership in this vital sector”; there is some thinking that the creation of the panel could help to make the UK an even more attractive fintech market; the Chancellor made it a point to say the government believes opportunity needs to be delivered across the country and this could help to reach that goal.
