WeLab is ready to become one of the first companies to apply for a virtual banking license in Hong Kong; “We would like to be among the first to file a formal application for a virtual banking license which I believe would be an important step forward for the development of smart banking in Hong Kong,” said Simon Loong Pui-chi, the founder and chief executive of WeLab in an exclusive interview with the South China Morning Post; the license will allow the company to expand services and diversify the company to become a full services bank.
