Many consumers today believe their financial lives are complex and it’s easy to get caught up in finance topics which are too generic or not actionable for consumers; Shevlin argues the current account aggregation apps are not going to solve the problem and that they provide no insights, guidance or direction; his vision is the financial feed which are personalized messages or conversations between all finance providers and individuals; some of the things that could be included are news that impacts a user’s financial life, specific account alerts, insights into market shifts, reviews of incoming monthly bills, a deep analysis of spending patterns and more; the idea is that a financial institution would be able to have write-access to your feed; Shevlin delves into this idea further and why he believes the financial feed will eventually take hold.
